Paisley Epiphany

"Paisley Epiphany" ACEO 3.5 x 2.5 inches, acrylic on illustration board.

I liked the idea of an epiphany based on a popular textile design. Note that there is an eye in the paisley. Paisleys are of ancient origin, from India and Persia. The west only caught onto them recently in the past couple hundred years, and their English name comes from the town of Paisley, Scotland.

This is another one of my compositional studies, with a cross shaped composition.

As a lifelong fan of the paisley form, I salute your painting, Theresa! May you have many more such epiphanies.

One of the best things Waverly ever said to me when I was moaning over something going wrong (or was I whining?) was "Look at it as a challenge!" It got my attention. It was a little epiphany.

Check out Waverly's blog on being an artist's model:

Thanks Rick, I hope for more little epiphanies, they can happen if I just keep my ears open.
