Birdie WIP (pet portrait of dog, grisaille)

"Birdie" Grisaille underpainting in acrylic, 9x12, done from photo. This will be glazed over with oils. Birdie was a very sweet little dog who belonged to my niece. In this portrait I'm hoping to capture a sense of life and Birdie's personality.

Hey Theresa, you've definitely captured Birdie's gesture. All the forms under the fur read really well too, can't wait to see the finished piece.

Thanks Brian! It's a risk because painting over a grisaille changes it somewhat. So it can end up getting somewhat tighter. But we'll see how it goes. Results no matter how tight will be posted.
