Knitting at Night

Title: "Knitting at Night"
Medium: Acrylic on panel
Size: 6x6 inches
Genre: Fantasy

The image of a sheep knitting in Lewis Carroll's book, "Through the Looking-Glass" has always fascinated me. Haven't seen the movie yet, but would like to. And it was fun to hold my hand in front of the mirror and do some "air knitting" with a paint brush.

Another one of my small studies. I was shooting for more realistic but the Owl said no, it wanted to be stylized, and you just can't argue with stylized Owls. Also on this one I tried out a Zorn type palette: black, yellow oxide, cad red med., and white.

Titania was the Queen of the Fairies in Shakespeare's "Midsummer Night's Dream." Here she is in a thoughtful moment.
