"Clock Secret" 14x11 acrylic on stretched, wrapped canvas. Inspired by the Nancy Drew book "The Secret of the Old Clock" by Carolyn Keene. Nancy is snooping around, and having found the old clock is about to plumb its mystery. Moon Lake is in the background. This is a surreal setting which is neither indoors nor outdoors. As a girl I loved reading Nancy Drew, and could polish of an entire book on a summer's day.
For reference I used a photo I took of the model, a photo I took of the sky, clay models I made, and various still life objects.
