Beginner's Mind and Conventional Wisdom, ACRYLIC PAINTING

"Beginners Mind & Conventional Wisdom" 16 x 20, acrylic on canvas, fantasy genre. This is the final version, based on the earlier small study and the clay models. Not counting the clay models and the watercolor study, it took me about 3 weeks to paint this.
The story behind it:  It's about two different viewpoints: Beginner's Mind, in which there are unlimited possibilities because problems have yet to be encountered, and Conventional Wisdom, which sees possibilities as limited due to past experience or the experience of others. Here, the two viewpoints are having a conversation. The Owl is Beginner's Mind, and the Boogie Bird is Conventional Wisdom.

Wow! I saw the other version of this on your other blog first. Awesome. I really admire artists who work from their imagination since I always paint what's in front of me... Great work.
