Sphinx Riddle Redux

Illustration Friday: CAUTION. In ancient mythology, those who answered the Riddle the Sphinx posed had to get the answer correct, or forfeit their life. The painting contains both the riddle and its answer.

"The Riddle of The Sphinx" 11 x 14, acrylic on canvas. 

This painting has been selected to hang in the Austin Visual Arts Association 32nd Anniversary Exhibition, to be held September 4--28, 2009, at the Dougherty Arts Center in Austin, Texas USA. Opening reception: September 9, 6--8:30 pm.

Thanx for the eBay tip. Isn't it amazing the stuff you just don't realize you should opt out of? Like, they should be the ones asking permission in the first place?
