"Leaf Peeper" 14 x11 inches, acrylic on stretched canvas, fantasy genre. This is an old painting I redid. You can see how it used to look below. It was too dark, and needed to be lightened and brightened up. I also decided to make the Peeper's face more realistic. So now it's a completely different painting.
Painting with Acrylics TIP:
To give acrylics a richer surface that resembles oils, do not thin heavy body acrylics with water. Thin them with acrylic medium. My two favorite acrylic mediums are Liquitex Matte Medium, and Golden gloss Acrylic Glazing Liquid (not overly glossy, which I like). The Liquitex medium dries fast, and the Golden dries slow, so the two of them provide everything needed for layering. I also sometimes use just the paint itself, no water or medium added, with a dampened brush.

Wow! What a big difference... I like the lighter version and the wonderful sweet face! The first one had a scifi look to it.
Thanks for the info on using acrylic ;^)
I like the new one so much better. It looks like a sky we might have had today...if it hadn't been gray and gloomy. It is fall incarnate and a face that one would like to find in the midst of the leaves.
